The price for dental hygiene treatments such as scaling (cleaning) are valued in 15-minute increments. The fee for each patient ranges depending on the time required for each individual patient.
Each individual new patients' needs vary so greatly that we cannot give a specific price. We only ever charge the new patient fee once. Every five years we do a comprehensive update of your information at a reduced fee. The new patient process generally includes the examination of hard and soft tissues, x-rays as needed, scaling and polishing. In some cases, fluoride is recommended.
Yes! We offer nitrous and an oral sedation pill. Ask your dental provider if you are a candidate for either of these options. Just remember nothing by mouth for at least two hours prior to the appointment time in order to qualify for nitrous sedation.
Absolutely! We want your child to be as comfortable in our care as possible. If having the parent or guardian in the room during treatment will help the child have a better experience, we encourage it.
Each insurance policy varies. We do not know what each specific insurance policy covers. However, if there is a specific question, we can send a predetermination to the insurance company to find out more information. We are currently setting up a profile with each insurance company that will allow it. This will enable us to better aid our clients in knowing about their coverage.
The Ontario Dental Association (ODA) Fee Guide is an index of dental procedure codes and suggested fees in Ontario, Canada. The list is updated annually by the ODA, which is a voluntary organization of Ontario dentists and dental experts advocating for better dental care in Ontario. Only dentists that are part of the ODA have access to the use of this fee guide, designed to provide fair and equitable fees for routine dental services. Therefore, no matter where you go in Ontario for dental care, any ODA dentist will provide dental services consistent with ODA fee guide prices.
The ODA Fee Guide is only a framework for prices because there are many variables affecting treatment costs depending on your individual dental situation and needs. Therefore, to get a more accurate quote for dental treatment, it is important to see a qualified dentist to accurately diagnose your problem before offering treatment options and costs.
At Lucan Dental, we believe in the importance of providing fair prices, which is why we follow the ODA Fee Guide for routine dental services.
